Tanzquartier Wien (TQW)

Tanzquartier Wien - a versatile centre for dance and performance - sees itself as a workshop, studio and communicative interface for artists from Austria and Central Europe.

Tanzquartier Wien, situated in the Museumsquartier Wien, is dedicated to contemporary Dance and Performanceart. The weekly changing programme shows local and international productions. A Studiofacility offers space for Workshops and Training for professional Dancers. The attached theory and information centre, with a public library and videospace provides theoretical facilities.

The Dialogues series, curated by Tim Etchells and Adrian Heathfield, is the continuation of their intensive analysis of the tension between creativity and critical analysis. Dialogues explores the importance of the lecture performance for knowledge production in performance art.
Highlight is a ten hours lasting-Marathon The Frequently Asked, a formation of dialogue pairs, each followed by discussion. The audience can join in the discussion and come and go at any time. Etchells and Heathfield will prepare questions in advance. Others will arise during the marathon in interaction with the audience.
