Lost in action (without translations)

The lab explores the translation of film material such as camera positions, time and movement patterns of the Western avant-garde cinema into the genre of South-East-Asian action films and their transference back into films such as those by Quentin Tarantino. The Belgian sociologist and dance dramaturge Rudi Laermans explores this phenomenon with positions from film, dance and music. The starting point of the conception of this lab was the concept of “aesthetic cosmopolitanism”
